It grows at altitudes of\n1600-2700 metres, both as a terrestrial plant, epiphyte and lithophyte.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis species really is a must for any serious\ncollector and needs little introduction! Nepenthes edwardsiana is one of the\nlargest species in the genus, forming pitchers up to fifty centimetres tall.\nIt has one of the most developed peristomes of all Nepenthes, which\nis usually blood red in colour, while the pitchers appear in various\nshades of yellow to maroon. The pitchers are bulbous at the base\nand the cylindrical body merges into the massive teeth on the peristome\n.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe upper pitchers are quite similar to the lower ones, but\nthe upper pitchers lack wings, are larger and have a\ntubular shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eCultivation guidelines:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eLight:\u003c\/b\u003e Bright, indirect or subdued light, leaves\nturn slightly red in colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eTemperature: \u003c\/b\u003eMedium to highland conditions.
